Gonorrhoea

Testing for Gonorrhoea

When you visit your sexual health clinic, we will ask you to provide a urine sample and staff may also use a swab to collect cell samples. This only takes a few seconds and isn't painful - you might feel a bit uncomfortable for a very short time.

Treatment for Gonorrhoea

Gonorrhoea can be treated with antibiotics but it is important that you complete the course. We will explain your treatment to you, and how to avoid future infections. Do let a member of staff know if you think you might be pregnant as this can affect the type of antibiotic we give you.

Do you have Symptoms?

If you have symptoms you should get yourself tested to avoid infection developing and from transferring it to someone else.
